Content Strategies for Subscription TV

It’s the hottest space in the marketplace, and has revolutionised television viewing habits around the world. Brand names in the USA have been built on it - HBO, Showtime, AMC. To date, these channels have dominated the output, with the shows they make becoming household names – Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Mad Men. Here, in Australia, Foxtel is fighting back: commissioning and programming high end Australian drama and a range of other genres. The enormous success of The Kettering Incident shows it can be done.

Join Deanne Weir, Managing Director, Content Aggregation and Wholesale at Foxtel, in conversation with Screen Producers CEO, Matthew Deaner as they discuss what’s next for Subscription TV.

Want to know more about Foxtel’s content strategy? Its plans for the future?  What is it looking for? What’s next on the slate? Hear Deanne talk about her time at Screen Australia, her move to Foxtel and her passionate commitment to Gender Equality in the screen content sector.

Deanne has returned to the pay television sector with a brief to boost and protect the slate of channels and on-demand shows that Foxtel sources from Hollywood and elsewhere.  This means managing the company's' increasingly complex relationships with global content giants such has Disney, the BBC, Discovery, Viacom and NBC Universal, some of which have launched, or are considering launching, their own streaming services.

Take this valuable opportunity to get the inside running on Foxtel from Deanne Weir in conversation.
