Roadshow Films has been responsible for releasing box office epics The Hunger Games, The Hobbit, American Sniper, Red Dog, Paper Planes, and six-time Academy Award winning film and monster box office hit, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Joel Pearlman is the CEO of Roadshow Films a division of Village Roadshow Limited.

As CEO of Roadshow Films, Joel oversees the theatrical film distribution and acquisitions teams. Roadshow Films is Australia’s leading film distributor – distributing films in Australia and New Zealand on behalf of Warner Bros. Roadshow has distribution agreements with many leading independent film distribution companies including Lionsgate, The Weinstein Company and STX as well as many independent producers and sales agents. In 2014 Roadshow Films announced a new equity investment and strategic partnership with FilmNation Entertainment providing new growth opportunities and expanding the company’s presence in the global entertainment marketplace.

In addition, Roadshow Films has recently created Roadshow Rough Diamond bringing John Edwards and Dan Edwards to join Roadshow in creating a slate of television productions.

Roadshow Films has been responsible for releasing such films as THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, AMERICAN SNIPER, THE LEGO MOVIE and MAGIC MIKE XXL.

Joel also oversees Roadshow’s Australian production division with local releases including PAPER PLANES, ODDBALL,THE DAUGHTER and the RED DOG films.

Additionally, Joel is currently on the board of the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.

Matthew Deaner is our Executive Director. Matthew sits across all aspects of Screen Producers Australia's advocacy work, industrial negotiations, events and operational issues. He also works closely with our Council to set the strategic direction of the organisation as well as identify and execute new business development opportunities.
