Last night, screen industry leaders, Parliamentarians, and celebrated Australian storytellers gathered in Canberra for SPA's annual Screen Stories Dinner, supported by Media Super.
The event brought together the creative and policy communities to champion the value of Australian storytelling and the screen sector’s essential contribution to the nation’s economy, culture, and identity.
Attendees included acclaimed actors Bryan Brown (Boy Swallows Universe, Breaker Morant), Marta Dusseldorp (Bay of Fires, Janet King), Rob Collins (RFDS, Top End Bub), Brooke Satchwell (Kangaroo, The Twelve), Ryan Corr (Holding the Man, House of the Dragon), Chika Ikogwe (Heartbreak High, Land of Bad), Matt Day (Rake, Kiss or Kill), Rhys Muldoon (The Secret Life of Us, House Husbands) and Nina Oyama (Deadloch, Utopia) alongside leading producers Lisa Scott (Highview Productions), Aaron Fa'aoso (Lonestar Productions), Nick Murray (CJZ), Helen Bowden (Lingo Pictures), Jo Porter (Curio Pictures), Camilla Mazzaferro (Songbird Studios), Michael Tear (WildBear Entertainment) and Greg Haddrick.
Parliamentary guests included The Hon Tony Burke MP, Zali Steggall OAM MP, Shadow Minister for the Arts Julian Leeser MP, Allegra Spender MP, and Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, joined by senior representatives from Screen Australia, Screen Territory, Screen Canberra, Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), and National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
