Following our Annual General Meeting, we are pleased to confirm the 2025/26 SPA Council. This year’s Council remains unchanged from 2024/25, reflecting the strong continuity, expertise, and commitment of our elected Councillors and appointed Advisors.

“The continuity of this year’s Council provides SPA and our members with stable, strategic leadership at a time when the sector is experiencing significant transformation,” said SPA CEO Matthew Deaner. “Our Council brings deep experience across all parts of the screen industry, and together we will continue to champion the policy reforms and industry settings needed to ensure Australian stories and Australian businesses can thrive.”

Matthew added, “With major issues still in play, including the implementation of streaming regulation, workforce sustainability, and the strengthening of domestic production capability, our Council’s guidance will remain critical in the year ahead. I look forward to continuing this work alongside Council President Tracey Vieira, Vice President Suzanne Ryan, and all Councillors and Advisors."

Council President Tracey Vieira acknowledged the reappointed Council, noting: “Our returning Council represents a wide breadth of experience across production, distribution, and services. Their continued commitment highlights the shared determination across our sector to support Australian businesses, Australian stories, and the people who create them.”

We also extend our sincere thanks to Jill Hewitt for her valuable contribution as a Councillor, and acknowledge her service and leadership during her time on the Council.
